Application Process

The first step is filling out an application form.

Starting up a business is challenging, and sometimes overwhelming. Plains Angels was created in part to assist entrepreneurs with locating investment opportunities and raising capital. Prospective entrepreneurs looking for funding should begin with the application process.

Screening

After the initial application, Plains Angels will screen your application to determine if your company is within investment profile for Plains Angels members. If so, you will be contacted to schedule a presentation to Plains Angels. We meet on the second Mondays of each month and decide upon each month’s presenters approximately two weeks prior to the meeting date.

Selection and Presentation

Once selected, entrepreneurs present to the Plains Angels at a monthly meeting for 15 minutes followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

We recommend using an investor presentation template for your pitch. A sample deck is linked here for your convenience.

After presenting to Plains Angels, you will be contacted by a member of Plains Angels to discuss next steps, depending on each individual opportunity and interest in the investment. If there isn’t sufficient interest in proceeding, Plains Angels will provide the group’s feedback to the presenting companies.

If there is interest in proceeding further, one or more investors will work with you to perform due diligence and discuss possible investment options. This may take time depending on the complexity of the company, the amount of capital being raised, prior or current investors involved, and investment vehicles utilized for the specific raise.
